What... Happened?

I don't and didn't really want to say anything too personal, but I feel like I have to say something, because I feel very disappointed in myself for not delivering anything to you guys.
If you don't want to see my yap session, skip to the third paragraph.

I went on break because I've been facing lots and lots of stress. I don't exactly know where it came from, and I don't know how to make it go away. The best ive gathered is that stress is preventing me from doing almost anything for some reason, even things like drawing when those are supposed to be stress relieving activities. This stress is also paired up with me possibly having Autism and or ADHD. Which is highly likely, considering the mannerisms and the way I act, but I have always been and will probably stay untested and therefore undiagnosed. I'm unsure if I will ever find out. But the stress paired with the mental challenges that were already present have created a vortex of emotion swirling inside of me. I end up taking projects very big (AND STILL POSSIBLE) but due to me having trouble being able to stay on one at a time and the newly found problem of me just not being able to work on anything, it makes work basically impossible nowadays. All of this paired with the fact that I was already starting to doubt myself because of my inability to finish The Finale amongst other things due to my very very bad job at scripting, did not help anything. So I just stopped. But I still want to make it.

So what about Grocery Store?
It's not cancelled. As much as that would be stress RELIEVING, its not the right thing nor is it what I want to do. In my mind I have crafted what I believe to be one of my most beautiful stories that the team is helping me edit and bring to life. You already know we're taking on many things like Grocery Store 2: Finale, Grocery Store: Tower Defense, Grocery Store: After Hours, and Grocery Store Restocked. You don't have to worry about this. Grocery Store: Tower Defense is mainly being developed and overseen by our builder, character designer, UI editor, K1ng_Bac0n, who is the person who pitched this game to me and seemed excited and motivated to take it on. Grocery Store Restocked is simply a reimagining of the initial game, as the first game makes me unhappy to see and even unhappier that it is required to play to fully understand the Grocery Store timeline Restocked should not take long, as we are not fully replacing the assets, but just re-scripting everything already there with a better engine, the After Hours engine, which brings us to Grocery Store: After Hours. Being developed by me and Catshee mainly, should not take that long either, as it will use the same reimagined map as Grocery Store 1, and same characters + maybe a few new ones. This game also will not be crazy with drama and tension, as it simply follows the the night after GS1, where PL4YR could not sleep due to his survivor's guilt and traumatic experience.

As for the Grocery Store 2: Finale Part 1. It is still coming, and it is not exactly being worked on every day, but we are still working. We have been stuck trying to script a boss battle. The main problem, and I'll be blunt with it, is that I can't script those. I'm trying to figure out what to do and learn (since to be frank, I don't know what to do)
Other things I want to add with the finale will be roleplay servers, arcade modes for you to replay your favorite minigames, updated endings with more action, fun, spice, fairness, overall something more engaging, and lastly, hugely updated graphics to make the game look nice and amazing.

I hope you guys are still looking forward to everything Grocery Store related that has yet to come out. Me and the team are working so hard to bring all this Grocery Store content to you guys. You just need to have patience, as I just need motivation.

What the heck happened!?!?

So... where have we been? Its been forever! Well, I'll answer that.
We're still working on the game! Just.. really..... slooowwwllyyyy.... We also have another project in the works, hoping you guys will like it, and get Grocery Store back on it's feet! A big problem that we've seemed to have is that Grocery Store 2, though it's a better game, didn't reach as far as the first game did, which sucks. We're hoping we can get more people interested while working on the finale! We also have had a mini update planned, but as progress has been going unusually slow, it kind of sucks. One big downside is that I'm not the best coder, and I've been putting lots of work into trying to learn more, though I don't seem to get anywhere, which is extremely demotivating to see, and doesn't help progress. Though, for this to all come out, I need you guys to bear with me here. I've made this painting of PL4YR and his consistent nightmares about H4CKR he had the entire week that occured between Grocery Store 1 and Grocery Store 2.

Progress??

So far, today, I've been trying to get progress done, as the game comes out in under a week. I've got some things done, but really not too much at all.

Hoping to get an ending, and something that well.. technically is not much of an ending, done! It shouldn't be too much work, but I've really been procrastinating.

Though I did put some essential base game features, so I think that's pretty cool.

It's known that I'm (almost) the only animator, Cheesy animates some of what he works on, but other that I animate basically everything, so I hope you guys enjoy my animations in the game, animating is my passion, so I just hope that I've done well!

I HATE SPRINTING

So, I wasn't sure wether to make another announcement on here or not, mainly because I've been waiting for the website, and I wanted to atleast announce stuff before the game's release

We're working hard to make sure the game comes out next week, although it's scary, it's not done, but there's 16 endings and we got 12 of em done. I'm mainly worried about other features like the outfits and the items you're supposed to get from every ending (since I haven't made any of them yet, they aren't exactly used. Although yes, they will be used in the finale.)

Other than that, I think we need to enter the bug testing phase, so that we don't pull a Sonic Origins, or a Sonic Frontiers, or a Sonic Superstars, or a Sonic Colors Ultimate...

Speaking of bugs, THE RUNNING STOPPED FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY I was able to fix most of it, but as a person who has trouble scripting stuff like that, I dunno why it doesn't work, it annoys me. This is exactly why I didn't put sprinting in the first game, cuz its annoying 🫠

Hopefully we can fix this... soon, because the game requires sprinting.

Failure...

I tried to get to work, I started with trying to model a fish for an ending, my journey of modeling said fish is on my Twitter page
I give up till tomorrow, I'm busy and have stuff to do, and this fish is frustrating me, so not much got done today on my end.
Catshee has been working on the ending I was trying to model the fish for, so that's good, otherwise not much for today.
Also TheDurbie is working on an official Grocery Store website for me to put devlog updates and cool stuff on in the future, so watch out for that, and if that website does come, devlogs will most likely be on a weekly schedule instead of just whenever we work on the game. Lazy Days.. or I guess weeks?

We didn't do too much this week, I changed a lot of decorative stuff, but other than that our good ol pal @Cats handled the scripting The game officially has to release in a bit less than a month, so hopefully we can get this down... Idk why, I haven't had the drive or energy to work too much recently, so that sucks. However, since I feel too lazy to really go into studio or blender and work on stuff asset-wise, I've been doing a few things.. It's a surprise though, if we even decide to add it to the game (I hope we'd do but we'd need someone with a good deep enough voice.... unless I can try and do it lols)

A month!?

Wow, we got a month left to release this game! We've been making well.. somewhat good progress. We're trying to get done (or start) at least one ending every day!

Currently, I'm trying to take a break as I'm having very bad back pains today...

We got the area built for this next ending, which will hopefully be a chill relaxing one! Not too much else to say, take a photo!

Putting my Rayussy into this

I didn't work on GS2 for a hot minute because of personal stuff, but Sonic Frontiers DLC made me feel inspired to work some more! I really wanna finish this game! Luckily, however, while I was slackin off, talented developer Catshee really stepped up and helped work on an ending! Ending is basically done but I'm working out a few things before eventually it will be finished finished.

As for now, I'm 3D modeling for GS2 (wow..) Trying to put lots of effort into this game so that it comes out the best game it can be. I'm super excited for you guys to see what we've been working on, and the fact that I'm now 3D modeling for this game right now feels kinda insane! Excited for you guys to see what's planned, here's a pic of what I'm modeling! Are you able to figure out what it is? It's fairly easy. Either way, I'm not answering, so don't ask!

Braindead

ok so I was too tired last night because the entirety of the game broke and I had a full-on mental breakdown but it's all fixed now, so I got to finish another ending, however since I was mentally drained the ending is very... wacky.. zany.. a bit weird in the head.. but it's still a fun ending, it also sucked though because my files kept crashing, settings kept crashing, snip and sketch wasn't working, so my PC was just not having a good time, but I still managed to work.

Store stuff at the store store...

Good news, I finished the main store system for GS2! I say the main shop system because I think GS2 is going to have three main shops, but every shop is mainly going to be different, so that's why it is the main shop system.

With that, I also finished another ending (and as I guess you could just check my profile to see so what would be the point of hiding it?) aka the shoplifting ending! No further comment on said ending though.

Trying to get enough progress done, as I've said before, special things are happening on September 10th, aka Rayday. So stay tuned.

Life is.. roadblocks...

(I am so sorry for this title)

So, progress update, I'm trying to pick up the game again because, good news, the team has a release date in mind. and I'm trying to get... things done by Rayday!

Bad news, I can't.. update the game? I can't say much about this; this is a really big secret, but as you know, a requested feature of GS1 had lots to do with save data and resetting said data, so in that case, I've been working with lots of data, and one VERY BIG datastore thingy, and I noticed it's not saving, this is because due to the game's takedown (which I know the reason of, just hadn't fixed yet due to personal reasons) I cannot save most of the progress and stuff (Which may be wrong because yesterday I saved and the stuff I made yesterday I was able to open today. However, nonetheless, I cannot get my save data from the datastores.)

So that will halt progress for a little bit. However, I am now focusing on the main game, as I said, I need to get a good amount done By Rayday so expect something there. I'm definitely going to get a good amount of endings done (and then after that work on the shop system)

I have decided I will save datastores for last, due to the fact that when I get every ending done, THEN I will know the amount of data I need to save for this new progress saving system.

Currently, I have emailed Roblox about the changes to GS2 that I made to HOPEFULLY get the game back up now, it worked for GSR.

By the way, if you didn't know, Rayday is my birthday lol, and it's on September 10th.

Wowee Golly Gee Whiz! Datastores?

We all know that the first Grocery Store had.. no datastores, which meant that things weren't really resettable, you couldn't restart, everything was basically hard-locked in! This time, we have actual datastores!! You can restart your progress as many times as you want! Something also coming in the game? Collectibles! I've always wanted collectibles in a game, I'm super excited for you guys to see the items I want you guys to collect! I don't wanna give too much info away now, but I will say there are 8 collectible grocery bags around the game.. so go get 'em!

First GS2 Devlog post

Me and Jax are working on the music together!

There's songs lead by me, and then songs lead by Jax. Songs lead by me I start and try my best to make, as I'm still a beginner composer, where Jax then helps clean it up and make it better. Songs lead by Jax are ones that I give him a basic melody and idea for and he makes them. The first song (A Jax lead one) is very exciting and upbeat, and it's a remake/remix of a song from the first game! so I'm excited for you to hear it (and I'll probably use it for a GS2 trailer one day since the song is so good) The second song (lead by me) is a more literal remix of a song from the first game, which is now lo-fi and chill. I hope all of you are excited to hear the soundtrack, and remember to keep on store-storing your store storers!
